Vintage circa 1960 Wittnauer Geneve Stainless Square Case

$375.00

A wonderfully offbeat Wittnauer Geneve with a full stainless steel square case, silver sunburst dial, and the kind of mid-century geometry that makes a small watch feel far more interesting on the wrist. At 30mm across and 37mm lug to lug, this is compact, elegant, and unapologetically different—a true conversation piece rather than a standard round dress watch.

Case, Dial & Aesthetic

The case is a full stainless steel monoblock design, meaning the movement is accessed through the crystal side rather than a conventional removable caseback. The square case has polished surfaces, tapered lugs, and a crisp architectural profile that suits the Geneve script dial beautifully.

The silver dial has a radial sunburst finish with applied baton markers and textured square markers at the quarters. The black-filled hands and central sweep seconds hand give the dial good legibility while keeping the overall look refined and mid-century. The crystal has been replaced, giving the watch a clear, fresh presentation.

Movement: Wittnauer 11KS Manual Wind

Inside is a Wittnauer-signed caliber 11KS manual-wind movement with 17 jewels and central sweep seconds. This is a slim Swiss mechanical movement appropriate to the period and the through-crystal case construction. The watch winds, sets, and runs as expected following service.

Condition & Service

This watch has been fully serviced, regulated, and is running strongly and accurately per intake notes. A new crystal has also been installed.

The stainless steel case shows honest vintage wear, including visible surface scratches and polishing marks, especially on the broad square bezel and lug tops. The dial presents very nicely overall with an attractive sunburst finish and only age-appropriate signs of handling visible in the photos. As with any vintage watch, it should be kept away from water, moisture, and shock.

Why This Watch Matters ‍

This Wittnauer Geneve is all about shape and personality. The full stainless monoblock case, square mid-century profile, and clean silver dial make it much more distinctive than a typical vintage dress watch. It is not oversized and it is not trying to be modern—it is simply a charming, unusual, freshly serviced piece from a period when watch design was becoming increasingly experimental.

Watch band not included with purchase. You will need a 19mm band to pair with this watch. Please see this page for more information.
