Case, Dial & Aesthetic

The 26x26mm square tank case is executed in 10K gold fill with a steel back, factory marked 552/425, and overplated in 14K gold to restore its bright, period-correct appearance while preserving the original case structure. The proportions are classic mid-century Gruen, with a short 33mm lug-to-lug that wears elegantly on smaller wrists. The original Gruen dial features applied Arabic numerals and a clean minute track, showing an even, attractive patina consistent with age. An original glass crystal has been professionally polished and restored, maintaining the correct vintage profile and clarity.

Movement: Gruen 425SS Veri-Thin

Powering this watch is the Gruen Caliber 425SS, part of the celebrated Veri-Thin family of manual-wind movements. Introduced in the immediate postwar period, the Veri-Thin architecture was designed to achieve a slimmer overall profile without compromising durability or serviceability.
